HIFU is High Intensity Frequency Ultrasound which dramatically reduces signs of ageing such as tightening saggy skin around the jawline, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, it breaks down fat deposits around the double chin and tightens loose skin on the neck.
Why Have Hifu?
HIFU visibly tightens all skin laxity in all areas of the body it is used and results are noticed within weeks of treatment. This brand new device that was only launched in the UK in 2021 really is the latest non-surgical facelift to hit the market with updated technology that allows a pain-free experience unlike any other HIFU or results driven surgical and non-surgical options out there. It can be used for defining jawlines and creating contoured cheekbone definition, it can give an eye lift to reduce hooded eyes and can also be used to tighten all turkey necks. As an added benefit the side effects of HIFU are that it stimulates so much new collagen, clients also notice an improvement in skin texture, open pores and acne scars!!
What happens during Hifu?
HIFU uses heat (65 degrees) on 4 different layers of skin to lift and tighten the skin. It dramatically increases new collagen and elastin to give a more youthful contoured face. There are 4 different handpieces that work at 4 different depths in the skin. Ultrasound gel is applied to the face and each hand piece is slowly moved over the treatment areas working in sections for best results. There are 3 handpieces that we use for the face and a 4th handpiece for the body, all of which work at different depths for optimal results.

HIFU FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is HIFU for face?
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a relatively recent cosmetic treatment for contouring the face by skin tightening and fat removal from around the jawline and jowl area. Our device is a non-invasive and a painless replacement for face lifts. It uses ultrasound energy for the formation of new collagen and elastin, which results in firmer skin and more toned skin whilst reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
How long does HIFU face lift last?
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), is also known as Ultrasound Facelift or Ultherapy the most effective latest cosmetic treatment to lift, firm and completely rejuvenate skin. Only 1-3 initial treatments are required and results last up to 9-12 months. We always recommend an annual maintenance top up treatment and regular anti-ageing facials to help condition the skin and keep the collagen and elastin production active.
What are the side effects of HIFU?
Traditional HIFU/Ultherapy is known to be painful and require pain relief. Our medical device is pain free, clients may experience a slight tingling sensation or warmth on their skin; however pain relief is not required and the treatment is relatively relaxing.
Traditional HIFU/Ultherapy is known to create temporary blotchy skin. This is not the case with our Focus Dual Device, you experience little to no downtime.
Swelling and numbness has been reported on older traditional devices but this has not been the case with the Focus Dual.
The major side effect from HIFU is a lifted tighter face and more defined cheekbones and jawline.
Due to the depths we are working at you may experience volume loss in the fatty areas of the skin, leaving a more chiselled jaw and cheekbone.
How painful is HIFU?
The treatment using our device (Focus Dual) is the latest technology which is not painful, has no downtime and requires no pain relief. Old traditional HIFU is carried out after administering anaesthetic creams and pain relief. Pain at the end of the treatment is rare, although clients may feel a very slight sensitivity around the jawline which reduces over a day or so. HIFU is a safe treatment because the ultrasound energy targets only the tissue that is present deep below the surface of your skin. Clients can be assured that HIFU will not cause any damage to the upper layers of the skin. It will do the opposite and rejuvenate the skin.
Does HIFU burn fat?
A proper HIFU procedure using the medical device that we have will reduce fat on the face and body when done properly with the right handpieces. Excess facial fat pockets sag with age which create jowls, double chin, turkey necks etc. Chubby cheeks can be significantly reduced with our medical device using HIFU.
Is it OK to have Botox and Fillers after HIFU?
Please avoid injectables/filler for 7 days post HIFU treatment. We advise that clients wait 4 weeks after injectables or filler before having HIFU to give the injectables time to settle into the area worked on.
Which is better HIFU or Radio Frequency RF?
HIFU delivers more precise and more intense fractional ultrasound energy reaching 65 degrees. RF only reaches around 40 degrees so there is less thermal damage to stimulate new collagen. HIFU also goes much deeper into and beyond the dermal layer which actually reaches the SMAS layer which a plastic surgeon would lift and tighten on a facelift. RF, on the other hand does not go as deep as HIFU. They both have advantages to this is why we recommend skin consultations and potentially a combination of the two treatments for best results.
