WHAT HAPPENS?
LASER HAIR REMOVAL
A patch test and consultation is required before all laser Hair removal. Due to the advanced safe technology treatments can however be carried out 45 mins after patch tests.
During the treatment ultrasound gel is applied to the skin to allow for the laser to glide over the skin. The Soprano handpiece actual has an iced tip so the treatments feel cool to start with. As the handpiece glides over the skin warmth is slow felt as the area is treated.
Depending on skin and hair type, results are typically seen after the first treatment. After each treatment, the hair is still present as it's the follicle that has been destroyed not the hair shaft. The hairs will then naturally fall out over the next couple of weeks as the hair is pushed out of the hair shaft. We would usually expect up to 80% clearance within 8 sessions and recommend top up treatments when required.
There is no technology available that offers permanent hair removal. This is because new hair is continually stimulated from external factors such as stress. Stress increases testerone which stimulates new hair growth, there are also hormonal health conditions such as PCOS etc... During your course we are clearing all the hair that is actively growing. It roughly takes about 10-12 months to complete your course so we recommend your start sooner rather than later.
For the initial patch test please do NOT shave or wax the area. The practitioner will need to see the hair growth to fully assess your suitability and settings. Once your course of treatment starts the area treated should ALWAYS be cleanly shaven on the day of each appointment.
